Kaleb Pitchford accomplishes a lot in only a few months on the job
Kaleb Pitchford joined DIVERSANT in October 2019 as a digital platforms insights developer to support one of our telecom clients. He did not waste any time demonstrating value to our client and his team members. Per our client, Kaleb immediately tackled a complex data project freeing up 50TB of data which helped to prevent data issues that confronted the team for several months. He accomplished this task while still learning about the work environment and data set expectations.
Kaleb’s outstanding work quickly earned him recognition by our client as a strong team contributor. “He works hard and goes over and beyond,” stated our client. Because of his great work, we are pleased to recognize Kaleb as one of our Top Performers in our Consultant Spotlight program. Q&A with Kaleb Pitchford
Kaleb shares what he enjoys the most about his job and a rather interesting fun fact.
D: Kaleb, you have been an awesome consultant and you’ve added value to our team very quickly. Thank you for doing a great job for us and our client. We always ask this question and that is how did you decide to take on a role in technology?
KP: I’ve always wanted to work with computers from a very young age. When I was 9 I started a joke line advertising business in order to buy my first computer. It was a Magitronix Windows ’95. In high school I helped program my school’s robotics program. IT is where I ended up because I had a childhood love of computers and a lifetime of love for solving problems.
D: What cool project are you working on now and what do you enjoy the most about your job?
KP: I’m currently working on transitioning our reporting to the AWS cloud platform. I’m always excited to have the opportunity learn new infrastructure.
D: What is one fun fact about you?
KP: I’m double-jointed.
D: What is your favorite motivational quote?
KP: “Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” –Winston Churchill
Failures are inevitable, especially in this field. It’s an iterative process which is to say, you just keep failing at something over any over until it works. Then you fail a lot more to make it better. This quote just reminds me that failure is not the opposite of success. The majority of the time it’s what paves the path to success.
D: Share one statement about your experience with DIVERSANT.
KP: My most memorable moment working with DIVERSANT has to be, when I first flew into my new city, my hiring manager, Greg McAdam, was waiting to pick me up at the airport. It was snowing and I was stuck out on the runway for over an extra hour and a half but Greg waited to pick me up so that I’d have a good first night in Denver.
