Angie King Shares Her Why!
D: Angie, you joined DIVERSANT in January of this year and quickly got up to speed in your role. The team admires and welcomes your leadership style to the organization. Can you please share with us how you’ve grown within the staffing industry
AK: I joined DIVERSANT in January of 2019. I have worked in the staffing industry for 15+ years. After my first nine (9) months in administrative staffing, I had more placements in the Central Florida market than the rest of the combined existing team. Shortly thereafter, I found myself running a Direct Hire start-up division focusing on stock brokers. After I had some experience under my belt, it became obvious that the future in staffing was to be in the area of IT so I focused my efforts on getting into an IT staffing firm.
After my first year in IT, I was recognized for being number 3 out of 60 recruiters in the firm. In my second IT recruiting role, one in which I was a team lead, I was recognized as a top producer regionally and attended several Chairman’s Club Trips. I was later promoted to be a recruiting director and in a few years awarded Chairman’s Club amongst over 40 leaders.
D: How do you balance work-life and home/family?
AK: Since I was young, I have always set challenging goals for myself and pushed myself, daily, to accomplish actions that lead myself and others to success. I have learned it is important to know your “why” and stay focused on the goal. I have also learned the importance of relationships and treating others with respect.
D: Why have you chosen to join the business of IT staffing?
AK: I am in this business because I love to help people succeed. Also, being able to match great people with great companies is an amazing feeling.
