Supporting Best Buddies International

DIVERSANT is proud to announce our partnership with Best Buddies International. This is a non-profit organization working to help end the social isolation experienced by more than 200 million individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Oftentimes people with special abilities have a difficult time forming friendships and can face a lifetime of loneliness and seclusion.  To minimize these challenges, this organization has designed programs to help these individuals form friendships, secure meaningful jobs, and live independently.

Getting involved

The first connection with Best Buddies originated from the DIVERSANT Denver, Colorado office. The local team members were already involved by way of volunteer projects and fundraising events. Their involvement helped to spearhead support from DIVERSANT on a national scale. Since April of this year, team members have joined the Best Buddies Friendship Walk in four locations including Texas, California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.  The Philadelphia and Dallas offices  also raised an estimated $500 to donate to their local Best Buddies chapters.  Lastly, the Atlanta team members took action by partnering with Best Buddies to host a Recruitment Mixer at the local venue in Atlanta. “This is only one of many exciting events that we plan to host in an effort to create more awareness about Best Buddies in the Atlanta area,” commented Nick Battista, one of the local account managers.

“We are pleased to establish this long-term relationship with Best Buddies International,” stated Vito Butta, Director of Human Resources. “It is important to ensure that our employees have several ways to support this movement. Employees have the ability to elect a payroll deduction and one-time donation options as well as the ability to take part in team events so that we can all help make a difference.”

Upcoming Gift Auction Fundraising Event

What’s next? The local team in Red Bank, New Jersey is currently planning a Gift Auction fundraising event scheduled for Thursday, November 7th at 6:30 PM at the Oyster Point Hotel“We are excited to raise funds through this fundraising event to aid in the programmatic support of Best Buddies, commented Nicole Cicero, senior sales director. “Best Buddies’ programs now impact over 6,000 people in New Jersey. This movement could not happen without the support from people like you and me.” Special guest Dan Hagee, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a recent performer for two Comedy Central veteran headline acts at the Vault in the Valley Forge Casino, will emcee the event.
