DIVERSANT donates over $6K to Best Buddies.
It has been more than a year since the DIVERSANT employees have been together, in person, as a team. Due to COVID and these changes in our daily lives, it is not unusual that many felt isolated and lonely at times. The luxury of being together in person allows us to smile at one another as we pass in the hallway, share jokes, weekend fun, and family stories as we eat lunch. Naturally, we share a bond as co-workers that makes going to work a bit more fun.
“As a partner with Best Buddies, an organization that provides services, friendship, and support to the IDD community, I can only imagine how a person with intellectual and development disabilities (IDD) feels living in the COVID world” commented Eileen Pabon, Benefits Manager. “They feel isolated and lonely too. Despite the social distancing restrictions, we challenged our team to support the New Jersey Virtual Walk in May 2021. It’s an event with no big crowds, just you walking in peace and quiet, for one hour. Who can say no to that?”
DIVERSANT team members were excited to join the cause to support the New Jersey Virtual Walk. The team also set a goal to raise $3,000, which they were able to surpass immediately. With the generous company match, DIVERSANT donated more than $6K to Best Buddies.
“We formed a partnership with Best Buddies in 2018, and I am pleased with how our team members continue to step up to support such a great cause in driving diversity and inclusion in the local community,” shared Charlean Parks, Marketing Director. “DIVERSANT offers several ways for team members to support Best Buddies including making paycheck donations, attending virtual events, and volunteering to become a Best Buddy.”
