Phyllis Ferro joined DIVERSANT in 2016 as an account manager. She quickly learned the IT staffing business and is now recognized as a very successful sales leader. In 2018, Phyllis became a Rising Star member of Achievers Club, a program designed to celebrate the success of our top performers. Phyllis Ferro Discusses Finding Her Voice In the Business World
D: Phyllis, congratulations on being nominated as one of our outstanding women leaders here at DIVERSANT. You have been with us for three years. How has your career grown over the years?
PF: I would like to start off by thanking my colleagues for nominating me at DIVERSANT during Women’s History Month. I am proud to represent a company that empowers women in the workplace. In only three short years, I have grown exponentially and felt the support of both management and the teams around me.
In the beginning of my time at DIVERSANT, I was unsure of my place in the company, often questioning if this was the correct role for me due to lack of confidence. Through encouragement from senior management and hard work, I feel as though I’ve been able to forge my own path as a successful young woman in the workplace. I hope I’m able to encourage others to strive for greatness at work while never giving up anything personally.
D: Your role as a sales leader in the IT staffing industry can be demanding. How do you balance work-life and home/family?
PF: I am a strong believer in work-life balance. Not only is time with family and friends important but life experiences are as well. I believe making time is the key to maintaining that equal balance in anyone’s life. Setting goals has been the easiest way for me to do so. Working allows me to have experiences that I get to share with my family and friends.
D: Have you found your voice in the business world?
PF: I am still trying to find my voice and believe that I always will as I advance in my career. I believe every day is a new learning experience, especially when trying to find your voice in the business world. I take every day as a new learning experience and the more experience I have, the more knowledge I have to express vocally.
