Recognizing Jacqui Snyder, Practice Director, Service Delivery

Jacqui Snyder recently joined DIVERSANT and has quickly earned the reputation as a true leader. She received several votes from her colleagues to recognize her as an extraordinary woman leader. “She’s a natural born leader and the most supportive one I’ve worked under in my career,” stated one of her colleagues. As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, we are pleased to highlight Jacqui Snyder as one of our women leaders. Jacqui Snyder shares how she balances work-life and home/family 

D: Jacqui, as a leader in one of the most demanding industries, how do you find work-life balance?

JS: One of my mentors always says “Everyone has 24-hours in a day; it’s up to you how you use them.” This is how I look at the topic of work-life balance. Through the years I’ve had to decide what’s most important to me and allocate my time to reflect that to maintain a healthy balance. This is hard for me to do especially in an industry which demands my attention beyond normal business hours.

I find myself constantly doing “checks and balances” on where my time is spent. When things feel off-balance or if I get overwhelmed, I will find a way to re-adjust. I remind myself that those around me only know what I’m going through, or need, by communicating with them. Communication is key!

Secondly, it’s okay to take a day off or a vacation. It’s essential to plan! By taking charge of my schedule, I’m able to make time for the things that bring joy to my life.  In order to bring my best-self to work, I find it important to make time for the people and activities I care about outside of work. The more I take care of my needs outside of work, the better I will be as a team member at work.


D: You’ve been in the industry for a few years. How has your career evolved over the years?

JS: I have more than 7 years of experience in the IT staffing and recruiting industry. I recently celebrated my one-year anniversary with DIVERSANT in January. When I joined the company, I was the third hire of the Direct-Hire team in Minneapolis. I played an active role in helping the team grow to five employees. As of today, the Direct-Hire Practice has grown to over 20 employees in 5 different markets.

Starting as a recruiting manager on the Direct-Hire team, I finished my first year as the #1 producing recruiting manager which allowed me to earn my way into the Achievers Club as a “Rising Star.” I was quickly promoted after eight months to the practice director role in Minneapolis. In this role, I have the honor of leading a very talented four-person team of direct-hire recruiters which is very rewarding.
